OPEN FORUM MADRID, 14-15 June 2011 PDF Print E-mail
The European Partnership for Action Against Cancer successfully launched its first Open Forum. The event was hosted by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality and cast a spotlight on Healthcare and Research in the cancer fields. The Open Forum spanned two days, from 14 to 15 June 2011.

Associated and collaborating partners, as well as other stakeholders, attended the Open Forum to join in the debate on two important cancer fields. The State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Spain, Mr. Martinez Olmos and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Slovenia, Mr. Eržen, as well as Deputy Director General of DG Sanco, Mr. Seychell opened the Open Forum and welcomed the participants.

The first day was dedicated to Research and included speakers from other EU funded projects and also focused on the perspectives of other stakeholders on the Partnership. The second day was dedicated to Healthcare and highlighted themes important to the field, such as nutritional support for oncology patients, psychosocial support, health policy perspectives, challenge of rare cancers, nursing perspectives, etc.
